Walled Garden

For over a hundred years this was a busy yard for agricultural supplies until redesigned as a walled garden and now  producing organic fruit & vegetables, herbs and flowers. Ideal for patio dining or reflective strolls among the flowers...

Stradbally and Nearby

Stradbally is a delightfully situated village surrounded by hills and forest where there are easy wood walks. More vigorous hill walks, challenging bike trails and an unspoiled wilderness are to be found in the Slieve Bloom mountains, a thirty minutes drive away. Trout fishing is available in the lake on the adjacent Cosby estate and Coarse angling and canoeing three miles away at Vicarstown.

The sights described below, Emo Court, The Rock of Dunamase and Timahoe Round Tower are minutes away.

A thirty minute drive will also take the explorer to the ancient city of Kilkenny and The Earl of Rosse's castle at Birr.

Each year the village hosts The Steam Rally followed by The Electric Picnic and Ploughing Match with attendances from all over the world.
